Medical edition
An innovative alternative to the traditional, complex and difficult to manage “fat” PCs and to the inflexible thin clients, EveryDesk/MED is a specialized service designed to create a custom Linux-based desktop for the Health Care worker; designed to comply with the most stringent privacy and security laws. EveryDesk/MED includes a complete IHE-tested DICOM viewer, with full browsing, annotation and measurement modules; the R statistical environment, with a complete graphical interface, and the OpenOffice suite, with a complete medical spelling dictionary.
The desktop environments integrates in a secure way a managed login subsystem, that can be integrated with Active Directory or through our PAM-SAML implementation, that allows to delegate authentication and authorization to an external digital identity system.
EveryDesk/MED integrates support for Terminal Services, VMware View, and other remote desktop access; in fast network infrastructures, it can provide native desktop virtualization support, mixing Linux and Windows applications seamlessly:
The EveryDesk/MED system is efficient and flexible. The customization service makes it possible to meet the strictest requirements of large and small Authorities and CROs. Among the possible use cases:
- Small department: a specific key image is generated with the necessary reference software, along with the relevant configurations. User data is stored in a SMB-compatible file server, providing total security in case USB keys are lost or misplaced; no user credentials or personal data is saved locally, making the HealthDesk solution a simple and traceable component.
- Large departments, partial Hospital roll-outs: the personalized keys are enhanced with the SafeLog service, that centralizes and provides verifiable integrity of the audit logs for all the serviced systems.
- Managed infrastructures: the service is structured under an ITIL-compliant process, managed directly through the CMDbuild system. Management, inspection, trouble ticketing, document management and procurement processes are all integrated in a simple and comprehensive web-based interface.
- Distributed infrastructures: in rural deployment, or when the Health Care provider is structured in different physical locations with WAN connectivity, the central user file storage service is replaced with a distributed, reliable file system based on the XtreemFS file service. It provides transparent, migration-aware replica and secure storage of information across WAN links, with enforceable security access.
Integrated with Active Directory, EveryDesk /MEDcan be optionally managed as part of a full ITIL-compliant life-cycle, thanks to the additional CMDbuild ITIL infrastructure management system. Optionally implementable in a CIM-managed infrastructure,
